Moving on to firearms.Whether you are comfortable working with a firearm or not,it is essential that as a security professional, you become familiar with the handling and operation of a firearm. Some clients do not allow guns on their premises and as their visitors arrive at the security checkpoint, you may be required to lock guns away for safe-keeping until such time that the visitor is ready to leave. The incorrect handling of a firearm can cause serious injury or death, therefore firearm competency training is essential. The course is usually a week long and costs range between R1000 and R1200.
